Then re-install and tighten the drain plug to about 20 N-m or about 16 to 18 ft-lb and install and tighten the oil filter. The Shell Advance 4 Ultra is probably a little overkill for the SS800. In terms of oil, any motorcycle-specific 10W-40 or 15W-50 oil (dino or single-ester synthetic) would do fine. A new filter from Ducati dealer is about $10 or $15. That will probably run you about $10 to $20 (good investment). You would need a oil filter wrench to remove the filter. Remove the fairing, and then open up the oil filler cap and unscrew the drain plug at the bottom and then remove the oil filter.

However, Leo Vance and Remus also make pipes for Ducs. In terms of pipes, the 'standard' pipes for Duc's are the Termi pipes. The SS might not be 'as crazy' as Ducati's superbike line but it can still take you to the wall or over the cliff before you can finish saying 'holy shit.' The SS800 can go 0-60 faster than a BMW M3. How many miles have you got riding bikes ? If you've got 0 to 1,000 miles of actual road riding experience (outside of class room), be careful, be very careful. Not that it's that important, but for a new rider, a high seat-height can be a little unnerving. If you have reasonable self-control, then PROBABLY ok.Īnother thing to consider is the relatively high seat-height compared to the Monster line. If you like to lead-foot when driving, riding this bike as a first-bike would not be a good idea.
